Duckoo causes mayhem?

Last night, while we were sleeping, something happened. Either Sloth or Duckoo caused Marcia’s shoulders to hurt. Never had she felt so much pain. It was horribly sore. But the strangest thing was, she had no idea how it had happened. Sloth’s shoulders hurt too.

‘We must get to the bottom of this crime,’ said Mummy.

And so the investigation began.

‘First of all,’ said Marcia, ‘which one of these seems the most guilty?’

Detective Marcia suggested giving them a trial: ‘Let the trial begin,’ she declared.

The suspects arrived in the dock wearing handcuffs and looking sheepish (which was hard for a duck and a sloth).

In response to the question: ‘Did you do anything to Marcia’s shoulders in the night,’ Sloth tried to plead the fifth and Duckoo tried to plead the sixth. The judge shook her head in despair.

When asked if he touched Marcia’s shoulder in the night, Duckoo responded with: ‘Does that include bouncing up and down?’ When that was clarified, the suspect said: ‘Possibly!’ and then tried to plead the seventh.

But then, an important clue was discovered. Sloth is afraid of the dark and Duckoo is not. Duckoo continued to plead… this time the tenth. Seeming ever more suspicious.

At a critical point in the questioning, Sloth admitted that Duckoo had tried to instigate bouncing up and down during the night. But then when pressed further, quite predictably, Sloth fell asleep.

During closing questions, Duckoo attempted to plead the third. But then admitted he had spent hours jumping up and down on Marcia’s shoulders, sealing his guilt.
